RACE DISTANCES

There are 4 distances available: Super Sprint, Sprint, Olympic and Olympic Plus. Please see the table for a breakdown of each distance.

You can enter as an individual in any of the 4 distances or as part of a Team Relay in the Sprint and Olympic distance categories.

With a variety of distances available, there's something for triathletes (or soon to be triathletes!) of all abilities and ambitions.

ROUTE

Take a look at the 2016 route here.

All competitors will swim in the Royal Victoria Dock and run around the London Docklands, cheered on by the 30,000 strong crowd. The bike route varies depending on the distance, day and category you choose.

There are 3 different bike routes for our Olympic distance competitors:

  • Saturday Route - 4 laps turning at Leamouth Roundabout.
  • Sunday Westminster Route - 1 long lap turning at Big Ben followed by 1 short lap turning at Billingsgate.
  • Sunday Standard Route - 2 laps turning at Tower Hill.

FAQ'S

If you have any questions please take a look through our Frequently Asked Questions. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for please email us at info@thelondontriathlon.com.

SPECTATORS

With the race concentrated around the iconic ExCeL Centre, the AJ Bell London Triathlon is a hugely spectator friendly event. The transition area and finish line are actually inside the ExCeL Centre and are both fantastic areas to catch a glimpse of those you are cheering on!

When spectating, please consider the safety of the competing athletes and be aware of the race that is going on around you.

BIKE

We suggest spectators view the bike section from the west entrance of ExCeL (before the multi storey car park). Both the walkways from the DLR at Custom House Station and Prince Regent Station to ExCeL or from under the Fox pub at ground level are also great viewing points.

Spectators can line the South Colannade in the heart of Canary Wharf, where there are plenty of shops and eateries to keep you entertained whilst you wait.

RUN

The run course can be viewed anywhere outside the east of ExCeL as the route stretches along the north edge of the dock. The run route also loops through the Expo so you can also see the runners from inside the ExCeL Centre.

SWIM

The swim area can be viewed from the Dockside which can be accessed from either side of ExCeL. We will build a pedestrian bridge on the east side of ExCeL so friends and family can watch you from almost anywhere on the dock front.
